"As a teacher, I hold a very high standard for myself and for each of my students. I recognize the incredibly varied lives that each of my students lead and incorporate the whole person into all of my teaching and planning through differentiation and a lot of individual attention.  I believe that it is essential that students are exposed to a shared humanity and thus use theatre, literature, writing, social issues and current events in almost all of my lessons."

Elia is currently on the teaching faculty at NYU Tisch and AMDA where she teaches Advanced Scene Study and Intro to Acting.

Elia excels at making magical moments happen in the classroom while dealing with challenging texts and issues. She creates a positive, safe, and fun environment for students to express themselves and their ideas. It is always such a pleasure working and planning with Elia, as some of my best instructional practices have come from these collaborative lessons. She is truly an exceptional educator."
