Elia Monte-Brown
Elia is an actor and educator based in New York. She has performed in stage productions all over the country and dozens of film and television shows. Elia is also a certified teacher with over 15 years of teaching and coaching experience. She holds Masters degrees in both theatre (Yale School of Drama) and education (Pace University).
Acting
Elia has appeared in Blithe Spirit (The Guthrie), Timon of Athens (Theatre for a New Audience and Shakespeare Theatre of DC), Top Girls (The Huntington), Between Riverside and Crazy (ACT Geary Theatre) and has also worked at The Williamstown Theatre Festival, The Humana Festival and many more.
Film and TV credits include “FBI”, “The Deuce”, “The Resident”, “Shades of Blue”, “The Affair”, "Fort Tilden", “Search Party”, “The Affair”, “The Following”, “Person of Interest”, “Madam Secretary”, “Elementary”, "Law and Order: SVU" and "Law and Order: Criminal Intent".

Education

I believe that it is essential that students are exposed to a shared humanity and thus use theatre, literature, writing, social issues and current events in almost all of my lessons."
Youth Education
Elia is excited to support any private or small groups for completely bespoke interdisciplinary theatre programming that aligns with NY State Learning Standards. She will design single session or full year curriculums that explores the ancient greeks to new work currently being performed. Early Childhood through University level instruction.
Private Coaching
Elia is available to coach for auditions from Laguardia High School to The Yale School of Drama and any on camera or theatre auditions in between .
Teaching Artistry
Elia has worked as a Teaching Artist for fifteen years and currently works at some of NY most prestigious Broadway and Off Broadway Theatres such as Lincoln Center, Manhattan Theatre Club and Brooklyn Academy of Music. She has taught writing, leadership, dramaturgy and performance, usually incorperating them all into each lesson.
Elia is available for both remote and in-person learning for private and small-group instruction.
